Set on a site equipped with 80 Supercharger V4 stations, the diner turns a typical charging stop into an entertainment and culinary experience. The launch comes at a time when Tesla faces a difficult market environment. The Tesla Diner & Drive-In brings together the visual identity of a 1950s American diner and the digital flair of modern-day Silicon Valley. Customers arriving at the Hollywood site can order items such as Tesla Burgers, fries, wings, and breakfast tacos—served in packaging shaped like a Cybertruck. While waiting, they can watch films like Star Trek on giant screens, viewable directly from inside their cars.

The venue features humanoid Optimus robots that serve popcorn, roller-skating staff, and an immersive “Skypad” ceiling equipped with dual 66-foot-wide LED screens streaming videos. As outlined by MCE TV, customers can place their orders through the Tesla app, which uses geolocation to allow food preparation 15 minutes ahead of arrival.

Branding Disguised as Fast Food

Behind the theatrical presentation lies a precise business strategy. Musk’s goal with the diner is not limited to offering meals, but to create a vertically integrated model combining electric charging, dining, merchandising, and branded content. The project reflects his broader vision of transforming Tesla into a lifestyle brand, not just a car manufacturer.

The Los Angeles location is a proof of concept—part restaurant, part branding platform. The initiative was designed to attract attention and create a new kind of consumer engagement. On launch day, long queues formed before sunrise, particularly of fans arriving in Cybertrucks.
