The first image of a new upcoming WWII thriller, called “Anthropoid”, featuring Irish stars Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy has been released.

“Anthropoid” tells the incredible story of a remarkable operation that took place in 1941 in Czechoslovakia. The movie is based on the true event, Operation “Anthropoid”, which was the codename for the assassination of SS-Obergruppenführer and General der Polizei Reinhard Heydrich (nicknamed “The Butcher of Prague”).
The top-secret mission was carried out in Prague on 27 May 1942 by Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, although initially only wounding SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich at first, Heydrich suffered from his wounds and died in hospital on 4 June 1942. In return an estimate of 5,000 people were executed.
The movie is now shooting on location in the Czech Republic. The project has attracted an exciting array of some of Europe’s most talented actors, which include Toby Jones (Infamous, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Harry Lloyd (The Theory of Everything, Game of Thrones), Bill Milner (X-Men: First Class, Son of Rambow), Alena Mihulova (Krava, Nevinnost) and Sam Keeley (Adam Jones, Jadotville). They join Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey, The Fall), Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Inception), Charlotte Le Bon (Yves Saint Laurent, Bastille Day) and Anna Geislerová (Something Like Happiness, Zelary).
