Some of the cast for this World War II TV-serie includes Rick Okon (“Crime Scene”), who stars as Captain Klaus Hoffmann of U-612 and Vicky Krieps (“Phantom Thread”) who stars as Simone Strasser.

Playing Captain Hoffmann on board U-612 has truly been a wonderful yet intense experience. Filming in a replica U-boat brought home the shocking realisation of the severe life experienced on board these boats and, with 30,000 leaving port and only a small fraction returning, it gave me a real sense of the brutality involved in this war.”, said Rick Okon.

Other cast actors include Tom Wlashiha (“Game of Thrones”), Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex”), August Wittgenstein (“The Crown”), Rainer Bock (“Inglourious Basterds”), Leonard Scheicher (“Finsterworld”), Robert Stadlober (“Summer Storm”), Franz Dinda (“The Cloud”), Vincent Kartheiser (“Mad Men”) and many others.

“It is Autumn 1942 in occupied France and the U-612 is bracing for its maiden voyage. Led by the young commander Hoffmann, 40 men are heading towards their first ever mission in an increasingly brutal war, all cramped within the metal vessel. Personalities clash and loyalties shatter as they are tried by the unspeakable horrors of war. Will they live to make it back ashore?

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, Simone Strasser’s world is quickly spinning out of control. Deep into an impossible love affair that has her torn between the two sides, Simone must now navigate a world full of deception and betrayal, all under the watchful eye of the Gestapo’s Hagen Forster.”

Simone Strasser also has a brother in the TV-Serie, Frank Strasser, who is a radio operator on U-612.
