Serious Pacific War readers know that when the last Japanese bomber flew away around
11:00am after the two “dastardly” attacks on Pearl Harbor that warm, sunny morning of 7
December 1941, the Japanese were doomed to loose World War II. Inevitable defeat was due
to several factors, one of the most critical being the utter stupidity (thank God) of the Japanese

planning strategists not to bomb the obvious huge, brimming, oil tanks across the Bay atop the
open hills. Of course, reality of total victory was four years away at the cost of countless lives,
Allied as well as enemy. The great Japanese Combined Fleet naval force was rusting in all areas
the size of France across the Pacific. The world’s greatest sea battles were over, thanks mainly
to our brave seamen and navy-army-Marine pilots assigned well in our ships, planes and on
islands. Sure, it required almost 45 months, but revenge while bouncing back was justified and
irrevocably.
